Jay Seibels participated in the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association’s (SCCIA) first ever Emerging Topics Forum in Charleston, SC. The SCCIA invited a select group of its members to engage in a high level discussion for the purpose of creating a vision of the future of South Carolina as a captive domicile. Over the course of two days, industry leaders and members of the Alternative Risk Transfer Services (ARTS) division of the South Carolina Department of Insurance focused intensely upon the strengths and weaknesses of the domicile, and distilled a number of abstract ideas into concrete action items. The panel made specific recommendations to the SCCIA Board and to the ARTs division on ways South Carolina can increase its competitiveness and improve client services.
